It’s our mission to create moving pictures and bring brands to life – but how people watch video content is an ever evolving concept. Internet TV will revolutionise the way we watch television. Imagine searching online via your TV screen for content that you would choose to watch, instead of paying for 500 channels and finding nothing that interests you.
Not everyone has an internet ready TV set, but demand is growing! As reported in a recent YouGov study “although ownership of internet connected TVs is currently low, there is clearly a demand for them – almost three quarters (69%) of respondents had watched catch up TV citing convenience as the main driver for doing so”.
Life is busy and no one has time to be stuck to rigid TV schedules. Mobile devices such as Tablets and Smartphone’s give consumers the power to conveniently manage viewing. They can choose what they watch and when they watch it. TV must catch up and become as flexible as a Tablet so as not to be left behind in the great technology rush.
So what does this all mean? Well the exciting challenge for video creators is making sure content meets consumer’s pretty high standards.
Today, sites such as YouTube are more than just video sites; they provide a platform for collaboration and connecting with consumers on their terms, empowering the consumer to engage with your brand. According to comScore YouTube accounts for 7% of the total time spent on the internet in the US. If consumers can access this from the comfort of their own sofa then videos could go viral quicker than you could say “Fenton!”. Now all you need is an idea to engage your target audience…….
